Google Reader adds drag-and-drop
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Google Reader made a small but significant improvement to their user interface.
You can now drag-and-drop feeds into different user-defined folders. Prior to this enhancement, one had to change settings for each feed by selecting which folder it belonged to.
This small enhancement will make it that much easier to manage your feeds now.
Thanks Google!

Firefox 2.0.0.10 released…
The Mozilla Foundation has released Firefox 2.0.0.10. This version addresses the following security vulnerabilities
- MFSA 2007-39 Referer-spoofing via window.location race condition
- MFSA 2007-38 Memory corruption vulnerabilities (rv:1.8.1.10)
- MFSA 2007-37 jar: URI scheme XSS hazard
If you are not yet on this version of Firefox, I would highly recommend that you download the update.
On a different note, don’t you think we are seeing far too many security releases for Firefox these days? Are these signs of lapses in their development and testing processes or just the fact that Firefox popularity and its resultant hack attempts are on the rise?
Speed Linking: 23-Nov-07
Some useful links for the day:
- DownloadSquad has an interesting article titled “Ten Tips for Web Design Magic“. The title is a little misleading, but the article is still quite good.
- LifeHacker reviews a cool tool which allows you to make an offline copy of any website. Its called GearsMonkey, and requires Google Gears.
- Adobe has a new service called Share. It is a web-based service which will let you to upload, share files by embedding it in web page or blog or send documents without e-mail attachments, and access your documents from anywhere. The service is in Beta currently.
Enjoy!

Amazon’s eBook Reader: Kindle
Amazon launched its $399 wireless eBook reader a few days back and its had a mixed bag of reviews. The eBook allows you to download and read books, newspapers and browse the web on-the-go. You can buy books online from the Kindle Online Store.
Rather than providing my own set of comments on the reader, its best you read opinions on it from leading blogs:
- Amazon Kindle at ProductWiki
- TechCrunch gave it a thumbs down. The web browser took as long as 55 seconds to load the TechCrunch page!
- Read the specs at Engadget

Firefox 3 Beta 1 Released…
The Mozilla Foundation has released Beta 1 of Firefox 3. There is no official announcement yet on their website though. The link provided has installers for Mac, Linux, and Windows.
Do note that several plugins will NOT work with this beta version. This is just Beta 1 so don’t expect it to be very stable at the same time. I believe there are over 700 critical bugs that still need to be ironed out before the official release of Firefox 3.
The Mozilla Wiki has the complete feature list for Firefox 3 along with its current status.
